Reverse DNS

Hi,

Although there's no warnings on the Office 365 portal, the domain keeps being blacklisted and the reason is that there's no reverse DNS

"no reverse DNS, MX host should have rDNS - RFC1912 2.1"

Since the domain is hosted externally therefore DNS is not controlled by Office 365, what is the entry I should type on my DNS?

Thanks,

Jose

Hi Jose,

Based on your description, I'd like to know what type of Mail server you are using to send emails.

If you are using Exchange online server via Office 365, it is not feasible to use Reverse DNS, as Exchange online searches a pool/range of IP addresses every time it sends a mail. It will be some random IP addresses pointing a certain server in Exchange online.

But if you are using an On-Premise server, I suggest you contact Exchange Server team for support via this link: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-us/home?category=exchangeserver

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Ruel
