Multiple users entering data in a timesheet database

I have a time sheet database with four users. We use dropbox for all of our documents and I realized yesterday dropbox will not be an option for this database because when multiple users have the form open it creates a conflicted copy.

Per instructions in another feed I split the database into the back end and front end.

Can you please help me to make sure I am storing the files correctly and sharing them with the employees correctly?

We have a network folder available to use that is not cloud based and all users can access it.

Is it correct to create a link to this file on each desktop for the employees to use the form?

Most of the employees prefer to leave the form open and log their time as the days goes on. Is this something that is allowed using the document the way it is?

Thank you in advance!

If you make changes to your front end, you have to redeploy that to all users. If you search on AutoFE Updater, you will find some tools that will help you automate this.

Thank you, I did this and everything is working perfectly!

If I want to make a change to the form is there a way to have that update for everyone?

I added to one table and it is automatically updating without a problem.

The easiest way is to add a folder for the App on their local drive, make sure that folder is a Trusted Location and then copy the front end into that folder. Finally you can put a shortcut on their desktop or pin it to the Start menu and/or Task bar.

    Thank you Scott.

This may be a dumb question but how do I share it to each users computer?

Is a simple save as ok?

Only the back end goes in the shared network folder. The front end goes on each user's PC. The front end is linked to the shared back end. You NEED to do it this way especially if users plan on leaving their front end open all day.
