Query String filter not supplying value to SP List filter

The query string filter webpart seems to supply the value to the SharePoint List filter webpart while I am editing the page, but once the page is saved the list filter does not show the selected value. I have removed and added back both the query string and list filter webparts many times but this does not fix it. Anyone has the solution for this?

Be specific about the desired end result (with an example) and I'm sure someone with practical, everyday experience of SP can help.

    Hi Aamirghanchi,

Currently, I suggest you use a Text Filter web part to get the default value from the Query String filter web part instead or only use Query String filter web part to filter the SharePoint List View web part.

    Thanks for your understanding.

I want to filter a main/task list based on whats being selected in a Sharepoint List Filter Webpart. However if there is a querystring in the url, then I want the List filter autoselected to whats being provided in the querystring. This should in turn filter the main list. If the user selects a different item in the SP List Filter then this should filter the main list and override whats being provided in the querystring. Is this possible? From what I know SP List Filter does not accept filter values from QueryString Filter webpart.

    Hi Cliff.

What solution do you suggest if I have to get the default value from the querystring (if available) to filter the main list. Otherwise what is selected on the SP list filter is used to the main list and overrides the querystring (if available) ?

    Hi Aamirghanchi,

The SharePoint List Filter web part cannot get the default value from the Query String filter web part.

To this point, I suggest you give your feedback on our SharePoint Online UserVoice as it is a direct channel to the product developers.

    Thanks,

    Cliff
