Hi Div,

There is no direct way to get the page/document view count in SharePoint, as a workaround, we would suggest you use the "Popularity Trends" function.

Select the item, and then click "Popularity Trends" icon under FILES tab.

Then you will be able to see the views number by day/month from the downloaded Excel file.

For pages, you can navigate to the Site Pages library via Site Contents, select the specific page and follow the step above.

Besides, here is an article about how to show page views within a SharePoint page which using JavaScript/code for your reference:

**Showing Page Views within a SharePoint Page**

Thanks,

Frank

    Hi Frank,

Is there any reason SharePoint online continues to lose functionality?

Page views were easy to find in the previous interface/view.

Usage reports were far better with on-premises versions of SharePoint. What do we lose next?

    Regards,

    Scott.

    Hi Scott,

SharePoint Online is a bit different from SharePoint Server, due to some restrictions, it cannot have the same behavior as SharePoint Server.

And regarding your concerns, I suggest you submit your feedback to UserVoice. We value your feedback and product suggestions.

    Thanks,

    Frank.

    Hi Div,

The "Popularity Trends" function only available in the Classic Experience, and we cannot get the reports regarding who viewed the file/page in SharePoint Online.

For recommended third party apps which can meet this requirement, any community members who are experienced in this are welcome to share your insights here.

    Thanks,

    Frank
