Pivot Table? Drop Down List? Multiple Sheets?

I am working on tracking employee performance so will have a sheet with data from each day (multiple columns and rows for each day).  In addition to having the ability to review by day I would like to also be able to review by employee.  What is the best way to do this? I was initially thinking of creating a separate sheet for each employee but would have to copy the data over each day.  This will be a live document that I add to each day. Any help would be appreciated.

Excel 2016 Pro Plus with PowerPivot and Power Query (aka Get & Transform)

As Ashish pointed out, your data is not in a PivotTable friendly format.

But with tools like PQ, PP and Tables, it can be corrected.

Unfortunately it takes an unconscionable amount time to learn these tools.

So I suggest you just share your file and post the link here,

    monthly.

    Hi,

This data cannon be Pivoted because of the following:

    1. There are Total rows appearing
    2. There are blank rows appearing
    3. There are 2 header rows appearing (row 1 and 2)

Till as long as these problems exist, you will not be able to create a Pivot Table.

    Hi Ashish,

Thank you for your reply.  I have inserted an example of what I am working with- I have tried using the recommended pivot tables but am not very familiar with pivot tables.  Would you be able to assist me on how I set it up?

    Thank you,

    Sarah

    Hi,

It will be best to have all the data on one worksheet of one workbook.  That way, you will be able to create a Pivot Table/sort/filter.
