Printer always last printer used

Hi,

End user is running windows 10 pro 1511 and office 2013 (via office 365)

I have disabled in windows 10 "Let Windows manage my default printer"

The user prints to 2 printers  printer 1 is set to the default the other printer 2 he selects when he wants to print to it

When he prints to printer 2 (which is not the default printer) and he wants to print again it will display printer 2 instead of the default printer printer 1 (printer 1 still remains the default printer).

Essentially the user would like the default printer printer 1 to be the printer that shows up when he prints even if the last printer used was printer 2

Thanks

Stuart

It is easy enough to create a macro that will switch printers, print the document and switch back again - see the example code at http://www.gmayor.com/fax_from_word.htm

It is also possible to store the appropriate printer for a given document with that document see http://www.gmayor.com/Associate_Printer.htm

Note that, within a Word session, you will see the most recently selected printer again when you return to File | Print. This applies even if "Let Windows manage my default printer" is turned off. To ensure that Word uses the Windows default printer you will have to exit and restart the program (or manually re-select that printer of course).

If resetting "Let Windows manage my default printer" does not work then the problem must be with the printer. I suggest that you uninstall all printer software then reinstall new printer software compatible with Windows 10
