Referencing a Caption from Another Document

Hello! How do I reference a caption from another document as a field that can be updated should the figure number change? Thanks!

    Toggle on the display of the field codes and make sure that the INCLUDETEXT field is still there and that it has not been converted to its result.

    You will have to update the INCLUDETEXT field by clicking in it and then pressing F9.

    Thanks for your reply, Doug. But if I rearrange my figures in my source document, the INCLUDETEXT field in my destination document would not reflect the new figure numbers.

    Place a bookmark around the caption and then in the other document, use an INCLUDETEXT field in which you include the name of the bookmark after the path and filename.
