Hi Wayne,

Which edition of Office are you using? 32bit or 64bit?

You may check through any of the office applications by clicking on File > Account > about word.

Please be informed that having more RAM and faster CPU (high frequency) does help in accessing the data faster and also run more number of applications simultaneously.

Also, 64bit of Office has some advantages when using large databases or working with extremely large data sets, you may refer to the below article s for the same.

Hope the information helps. Let us know if you need further assistance.

I run 64 bit excel 2013 but am considering 2016.

When running one of my reports ( generating reports) for 100 clients it runs for nearly 48 hours at about 32gb 1600mhz maxed out.

To complete reports I run five or six separate computers for four to five days.  Three with 32 GB older i7 3770k cpus.

I am trying to decide which i7 cpu or xeon - more core or faster.

    6700K or 6800k or 6900k

I am thinking of PCIe hard drive 1.2 for storage and SSD for OS but wondering about 250GB PCIe for OS and excel as well.

These are the decisions I am needing help with.

Thanks for links to articles I will read those - may have my answers.

    Thanks for the links

    regards

    Wayne
