Content Type Field Missing in Document Library

Hi all,

I just added a content type to a SharePoint document library. I need to change some current content types and upload some documents with the new content type. However, I do not see that option in SharePoint online like I used to in our old SharePoint. I have tried using both the New and Classic view. What could I be doing wrong?

    Hi MIP Admin,

What’s the requirement about “I need to change some current content types and upload some documents with the new content type.”? Could you give us some examples? About “I do not see that option in SharePoint online like I used to in our old SharePoint.”, could you provide us with some related screenshots?

Generally, whether you are in the New view or in the Classic view, you can follow the steps below to change some current content types and upload some documents with the new content type.

In the New view, click Settings in the site collection library>Library settings>Content Types>Selecting the content type you want to edit>Advanced settings in Settings>Clicking Edit Template to edit the content type and Upload a new document template to upload a new document template.

In the Classic view, click LIBRARY> Library settings>Content Types>Selecting the content type you want to edit>Advanced settings in Settings>Clicking Edit Template to edit the content type and Upload a new document template to upload a new document template.

Please check the information above and let us know your updates.

    Thanks,

    Cliff
