Form controls error

Question

Hi,

Why am I getting an error about form controls trying to open someone else's spreadsheet? I am using Office 365 on an Android Galaxy 7. Don't know what they are using.

Please provide more information before we proceed.

1. Does the Excel file opens in read only mode?
2. How exactly are you opening the Excel file? Is it shared through email attachment or is it shared through OneDrive?

Please be informed if the files contains ActiveX controls, the file should open in read only mode on Android tablet. Kindly refer the following link for more information.

Please provide more information before we proceed.

Are you able to download and then open the same Excel file?

Please try downloading the Excel file locally on your computer and then try opening the Excel file to check if it open as expected.

Hi im having the same issue.

The excel file wont open in read only. Just says Cant open file , This version of Microsoft Excel cant open workbooks with 

• Form Controls

Im trying to open through one drive. I have other excel files of the exactly the same format the  same and they open just this one file wont.
