Failed to replicate mailbox

I'm attempting to create a shared mailbox via PowerShell and am receiving the warning...

New-Mailbox -name "deleteme2" -Shared

Failed to replicate mailbox:'deleteme2 to the site:'namprd16prod.outlook.com/Configuration/Sites/DY256' The mailbox will be available for logon in approximately 15 minutes.

When I attempt to create the mailbox via the Exchange Administration Center (EAC) I receive a similar warning.  As shown below:

This issue is consistent with every mailbox I create.  What is causing this and how do I use PowerShell to create a mailbox without experiencing this warning?

Hi Me_5555,

The warning indicates that the replication of syncing user/password to Azure Online was stopped. Because a shared mailbox doesn’t have a username with a password, the replication of syncing user/password will always fail whenever you create a shared mailbox. So please just ignore the warning and keep going on. The shared mailbox will be provisioned as usual.

Thanks,

Brook

    Hi Me_5555,

I understand your concern. However, normal businesses are not impacted by the issue. Shared mailboxes will still be created. Also there is no risk concerning data loss.

If you still have concerns regarding this, we would appreciate it if you could submit feedback to our relative team via the link: https://office365.uservoice.com/forums/273493-office-365-admin. Your ideas will be valued there. Actually, many of our features are influenced by customers’ feedback.

    Thanks,

    Brook

Unless I missed it, I am very disappointed that this behavior isn't formally documented.  Because it is not, both you and I have spent time troubleshooting a behavior that is to be expected.   Can you please request that this behavior is documented?

    Hi Me_5555,

After testing, we found that despite the warning, the shared mailbox creation is not affected. The shared mailbox will be provisioined in a while and we’re able use the shared mailbox as usual.

Regarding the warning itself, we need to do some consulting and will get you updated later.

    Thanks,

    Brook
