Hi,

Synchronized (from on-premises to Office365) user account was moved to "OU" that's have not synchronization enabled.

After moving back - mailbox (user) was deleted from Office365. After restore Office365 mailbox and full sync, mailbox was deleted again.

On-premises account was recreated (deleted, and created new with same UPN and primary Email). After that DirSync cannot sync with InvalidSoftMatch error - Required attribute 'cloudAnchor' is missing.

    Hi Iniur,

    Yes, you can.

I suggest you use SMTP matching to match on-premises user accounts to Office 365 user accounts for directory synchronization.

You should copy the Office 365 user’s Primary SMTP address into AD user’s E-mail field in ADSI edit tool then run DirSync. You can find the detailed steps from the article below:

    Best Regards,

I tried move on-permise account to OU with sync enabled and restore manualy mailbox user in Office365. After sync mailbox user was deleted again. As You say - I should only move on-permise account to OU with sync and mailbox user will restored after sync? Now I cannot check this way (but I test it in test environment).

Can I create new on-permise accont and associate it with mailbox user in Office365 that was synced with another (deleted) on-permise account?

I have seen account gets deleted on cloud when doing full sync if they are not inside the ou's selected for sync. But if you move that account in AD to the ou selected for sync they will be recreated automatically

Soft Match Doesn't work if attributes are still in use by other objects
