Structural Navigation: Editing and Sorting - Cannot Delete Item

With some sub-sites, links, I am allowed to delete, but on others I can only show/hide.  why is this when I have full privs to admin the site. 

I created a top level menu with drop down site/dept selection; now I cannot delete or remove any of these when I select edit and select eh "x" to delete.  Nothing happens.

Hi Chas,

On the Structural Navigation, for the sub-sites, we can't delete them manually, but we can Hide them.  If we don't want them to show up, just uncheck Show subsites under Structural Navigation. If we manually add some links to the navigation, we can delete them directly.

If that's not your situation, please share the details about how your created the links and share related screenshots with us.
