Excel Keeps Minimizing While Working

Hi,

I am currently using Windows 7 and Office 2010.

I would like to find out why or how I can stop my excel application form minimizing. It does not happen all the time but enough to cause frustration.

While I'm working it happens on different cases so I cannot pin point it to one common cause. It has happened while I've tried saving the document, while typing, while going through the ribbon tabs or just clicking through cells. It seems completely random and i have tried going back and doing the same task to see if it minimizing again but it does not.

Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Thank you for the information. It could possible that your AutoCAD might affect the functionality of Excel because you're running it at the same time. It may also due to not updating your Office 2010. In this case, we recommend that you install the latest Office updates first to make it updated. Once done, check if Excel keeps minimizing itself while using it.

We look forward to your update.

    Hi,

    Thank you for responding.

It may have happened to one or two other office applications but I can't be sure. I have only really noticed with excel due to using it more often.

I have tried restarting, closing and reopening the application, testing the application to see if there was a common area/cell/ribbon tab that may be faulty or causing it to minimize. Other than what I just explained i have not tried anything else. I do work with AutoCAD which i have open at the same time with excel running over it, would this effect the application? Would it be that AutoCAD is more resource hungry?

The last Office 2010 update looks like it was done in 2016.

    Hello,

We need to isolate this issue to figure out what's causing your Excel app to minimize by itself while using it. To better assist you, kindly provide the following information:

    • When does the issue start?
    • Does it also happens when using other Office apps like Word?
    • Did you install the latest Office update on your computer?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
