SharePoint Online error when editing Managed Property

Hi,

I am working on setting up Search in SharePoint Online for a client.

In the Search Admin in SharePoint Admin Centre, I edit RefinableString00. I then set an alias, add a "Mapping to Crawled Property" and click OK.

The page doesn't save, and gives an error: The settings could not be saved because of an internal error: Unable to connect to the remote server

I've done this many times before - please can you advise if this is an error on the server? Has anybody else had this problem?

Many thanks,

Colin

HI Zixuan,

I went in and tried this today and it worked fine. I assume, as somebody found in a separate post, that this is some form or intermittent issue on the server which is causing this to happen. I'll continue to set up the Search Centre and re-post if I have further issues.

Many thanks for your response.

Colin

    Hi Colin,

Based on my test, it can be saved when I click "OK" after I set an alias and added a mapping. Thus, could you provide the following information for us narrow down this behavior:

1.Please click "OK" first to save after you set an alias. If it can be saved, then try to add a mapping and see the outcome.

2.Try to select another crawled property to map to RefinableString00 to check whether it is due to the particular crawled property.

3.How about testing in another browser?

4.Confrim whether the issue occurs with another site collection.

    Regards,

    Zixuan
