Multiple issues with my computer (speakers buzzing and Word freezing)

Split from this thread.

I'm having similar issues with Word 2016, Windows 10, and a One-Drive environment.  My Word docs will either freeze up (whether I'm editing them or not), and if I'm playing music in Youtube, the speakers will make a loud buzzing noise.  The constant here is Word 2016.  This morning, I opened a Word doc (nothing else), went to get more coffee, came back, and the screen was frozen.  This happens with docs on my desktop and also in a One-Drive synced folder.

Every time, I have to do a hard reboot, pushing the power button.  Nothing else works.  This just started happening about a week ago.  I have a Lenovo ideapad, and one of their techs tried to troubleshoot it as a hardware problem, but nothing showed up in the logs or in our troubleshooting.  And of course, I couldn't reproduce the problem when he was online with me.  It's intermittent.

The tech wants me to reset from factory settings and reinstall everything, but that's going to be a huge pain, so I'm hoping someone has a better solution for me.

My machine is 64-bit.

Windows 10, 64-bit, 1607, OS build 14393.953

Word 2016 16.0.7766.7088 32-bit

The 32- vs. 64-bit difference shouldn't be an issue, correct?  Not when my machine and OS are both 64-bit.

    BigHoff22,

I am in full agreement with you.  I have never been more frustrated with a Microsoft product. Not only do I have this very frustrating pausing issue with all four of my computers (two Dell and an HP laptop and a Dell PC - the Dells all less than one year old) but I have also found out that the reason my Nuance Dragon Professional is not functioning well is due to the problem with 365. This is not mentioned anywhere on Nuance's website, had to find out from one of their technicians. They're apparently working on the issue, but they have no clue when they might have a fix. I have also talked to several people have been incredibly frustrated with 365 at their workplace and have had to have their IT people some type of work around or basically just abandon using Outlook. I am at the point where I really need to buy the stand alone version of the office suite, which was the Nuance technician's recommendation, and install locally for my Dragon software to work properly.  This is just crazy. Clearly the cloud format of 365 has problems and it is frustrating to pay what I feel is a great deal of money - with the automatic payment for yearly updates - for a product that one could rightly consider still in beta. It just feels like customers are not really being considered over the need/desire to force people into leasing software which clearly is the overwhelming trend for many different companies.

Same Issue, I Did full re-install of windows 10 and office and still an issue... Word 2016/365 very very frustrating as clearly with new installation it is definitely an underlining issue in WORD...

No Logs, No warning - screen just freezes with with content still visible and no error screen...
