Dear community,

While trying to update the linked values of my excel file to another workbook (.xlxs), I get this persistent error status: "Error: Source not found". But,

1.- The source exists and is placed in the correct folder.

2.- I've already tried updating the link with the "Change Source" button in the link manager (Data tab->Edit links)

The file exists, but excel can't recognize it.

Any suggestions?

Greetings,

edit: I also tried the following:

1.- renaming the file

2.- Changing the extension to .xlsm

    Few possibilities -

    1. Some of the functions need source workbooks to be opened. Could you please open the source file and try it again? If it is working and it is not possible to open the file because of business requirements, your formula in target workbook will be required to be modified which can work on closed worlbooks.
    2. Source file being in another version may also create a problem.

    1. If 1 and 2 don't work - Would like to look at your source and target file. Could you remove confidential data from source and target files and upload to Onedrive / Googledrive / Box / Dropbox or any other file host and share the link? It is recommended that you zip your files and upload. It will help us to give prompt and high quality solution.

Does it happen with only this file or any other file also? Can you open the file in Excel separately and see whether it opens properly or not?
