numbering when merging documents

Hello, and thank you for your continued assistance.  I have an issue now with quite a large document that I have put together.  It is a merge document with lots of numbering in it that is restarted throughout the document.  Once merged the numbering continued where it should have restarted.  It was quite a mess.

Any suggestions?

    Numbering?

    Page numbering?

    Paragraph numbering?

    Merged?

Merged how? What do you mean by merged?

    Combined?

    Mail Merge?

    If page numbering and combined:

Where you want page numbering to restart, make sure there is a Section break.

On the Insert tab under Page Number, go to Format Page numbers and tell Word what number you want to start with.

Check out the Word Toolkit for Advanced Management of Word Headers and Footers. It may show you what you need to change.
