Microsoft Project Wont Open

Question

I have an issue with Microsoft Project,  I have recently been unable to open Microsoft Project running on windows 10, with 8GB Ram and office 365. I went to control panel,  selected programme features, selected MS Project, selected change,  selected online repair. This resolved the issue but each time I power down my machine I have to do the same thing. 

Please note if I do a "Quick Repair" it does not resolve the problem.

Any advice please?

Hi James,

Does the problem still existing after the clean boot? In addition, you mentioned that after the online repair, it will load, is that mean you can open Project? If yes, you can try online repair again and see the result.

1. Since when did you encounter the problem, is there any option you've changed before the problem?
2. You can try a clean boot in Windows to narrow down the problem, please follow the steps in this article: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
3. Is there any error message when you try to open Project? If yes, would you share the screenshot with us?

Hi Tisky,

The problem first started after a windows update,  that I can recall. I did try performing a system restore but it made little or no difference. 

Ill try clean booting and update once done.

Error message attached, this appears when trying to open MS Project and happens at start-up:

As I say,  strange that if I attempt a online repair it will load, but not if I run a quick repair,  and once I reboot the machine it reverts back to this same issue.

Oh and I have also tried a re-install,  direct from office365, I have an Office 365 Enterprise E3 Licence.
