Excel filter wrong row

Question

Dear all,

I am having some issues with Excel Filter function. I have a PivotTable and normal data next to it and it keeps filtering row 2 instead of row 11.

Previously, it has worked well but now that I copied some columns to the right side, the filter does not work properly anymore. B11 still has an old filter enabled but all other filters have been removed.

I have tried:

• filter by entire row 11
• filter W11
• both above while unhiding hidden columns
• filter advanced, defining the list range

If anyone knows how to help me, please share your wisdom. :)

To make the problem more clearly, can you please provide some information below:

1.Please share the file with us so that we can test it.

2.Could you share a screenshot of your Excel version. (What version of Office am I using?)

3.Please provide a video of your detail steps with us.

Hi Cherry,

Unfortunately, I cannot share the file but I have tried to explain it through images below.

This is what happens when I try to filter A11-V11:

1. Select Row 11 - Filter function is gray
2. Click on W11 and Filter - filter buttons appear in row 2 (see image)
3. Select Advanced Filter and select List Range (e.g. A11:V5001) - nothing happens

Please let me know if this is still not clear.
