Why document properties > file path missing for a non-network file?

I'm stumped. I use the document properties to quickly capture a document's file path to paste as a hyperlink. I'm finding that SOME files, saved on my local PC instead of a network location, are missing the file path under File>Info. (Normally, I just click on the file path and get the shortcut menu of "copy link to clipboard.") Curiously, there are other locally saved files on my PC that do NOT have the file path missing under File>Info.

Does anyone have a fix for this weirdism?
