I am trying to set Appendix Numbering beyond a cover page format.
I would like for example:
Appendix A - Title
A.1 Title
A.2 Title
Appendix B - Title
B.1 Title
B.1 Title
I have tried Redefining the number format but I cant get the A to be stationary within the Appendix A section while the having the number linked and increase in conjunction with it. I know of Chapter numbering in page numbers but cant seem to find that for Headings.
I am doing these on Heading 6 and 7, as my other headings are used for standard Section numbering in the body of the document.
Here is a screen shot of a document I am trying to replicate:

Hello,
Here is are two web pages, that, when combined, will tell you how to do this.
The Appendix part is additional text in the multilevel numbering. The numbering is the A, B, C, etc. followed by 1,2,3. The numbering for that second level (heading 7) includes the numbering for the level above.
Hi Charles,
I tried to make this work but I cant seem to get both numbers to link properly.
See the list multilevel is a great idea in theory but because i have styles set on heading 1 - 5 that arent reflective of my heading 6 and 7 (Appendix styles) when going through the multilevel numbering, when I choose the A,B,C format it doesnt give me a level 1 , 2 ,3 to add as the second linked number.
I am not sure where to go from this point. If you have any insight I would appreciate that.
Thank you
I am assuming Heading 7 is the 1 2 3.
Heading 6 is the A, B, C?
