Spacing in Access Reports

I have a report that contains a sub-report.  Spacing between lines is not consistent.  I've added boarders to see if any particular field is causing this but the boarders all wrap the text closely.

The attached capture displays the affect.  I'd like all items to be spaced as between 4.a.2 and 4.a.3.

The fields to the right (beginning with the second "1st qtr" are all from an imbedded report.

Why is it placing extra space between 4.a.1 and 4.a.2? and again at 4.a.3 to 4.a.4?![](https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/140379d1-5e4a-44c6-85bf-df83a00606bd?platform=QnA)

    Hi

It seams like you are using the property setting called can shrink /grow , depending the way you have written the code that controls the reports text/Lable controls you definitely have those inconsistencies on your reports. Please just double check whether you are also trying to hid controls with null , I still feel strong that, that is what is happening here .

    Regards

    Chris

    Hi SloopJohnS,

In addition to Dhookom's suggestion to show us a preview with borders around all of the controls and the subreports, could you share more details to help us better understand your situation?

    1. Do other reports have the same problem? What about creating a new report and subreport?
    2. How did you create the main report and the subreport? Could you share the detailed the steps?
    3. A screenshot of your Access product information, you can check it from File tab>Account.

    Regards,

    Joanne

It would be great to see a preview with borders around all of the controls and the subreports.
