Low performance in Planner

Split from this thread.

I experience the same problems I see a lot of people complaining about.

Moving a task, opening, closing etc all take  between 5-10 seconds minimum, sometimes longer. This irrespective of the machine, corporate/private internet, browser (although Chrome seems to be worse, actions and changes disappear without warning).

I have 6 plans with somewhere between 20-50 active tasks in each plan.

I have about 20 acive tasks assigned to me; I created about 150 tasks in total (and this number is sure to increase, of course).

There are about 100 open tasks in total.

This seems to be within the limits of what is reasonable. And, I don't see what I can do to improve these numbers.

    Hi Paul,

I also notice there are many users having the low performance issue. But the issue may have different scenario from different members. From your description, your plans and tasks are within the limit so it should not caused by the limitation. And it happens in multiple Internet browsers. To check the issue you have, please also provide us the information below:

    1. Does the issue happen to all plans and users?
    2. Create a new test Plan, does the issue happen to the new created plan?
    3. When did the issue occur? Some users said the issue happened since the last update. I searched that there’s a new UI changes rolled out in last middle of July (reference).
    4. We would also like to collect a video from your side. To protect your privacy, I have sent you a private message to collect them. Please access it via this link.
    5. We would also like to collect your tenant information. Please also provide them via the link above in private message.

Additionally, please follow the steps below to see if there’s any difference from using the Planner in Microsoft Teams:

    1. Go to your Microsoft Teams
    2. In Teams, select the group name to go to the General Pane
    3. Click the “+” button to Add a tab > select Planner > select Use an existing plan > Save

    Thanks,

    Rena
