Getting ErrorCode: 120018 when trying to access Microsoft account through login.microsoftonline.com portal

Split from this thread.

I also get this error repeatedly while having a password that contains an uppercase letter, 6 digits, a special character and 7 lowercase character. Something tells me that the validation is "stuck" on refusing my password change (which I did not ask), no matter what it contains. What else can I do?

Thanks,

Antoine

Hello,

My admin deleted my work account, and redirected my Azure's permissions to my Office 365 account. Hence, the problem itself wasn't solved but rather avoided, but we will not investigate anymore since it is now working.

Thanks for the support!

Antoine

    Hello Rosen,

The issue has not happened to other persons I know. I will ask the Admin to try to change my password, and I will let you know if it failed to solve the problem, but we are many with the same admin and the problem seems to occur just with me.

The problem also only occurs when logging in with my "Work" account, while the personal account is working (I am using my personal account to reply right now). The thing is that some of my subscriptions are linked to my Work account, which became inaccessible for some reason.

Thanks for your reply, I'll try to see what I can do with my Admin and come back here if it still fails.

    Antoine

    Hi Antoine Baril,

Have you tried our suggestion? If you still get the error code, please provide us the above information.

    Regards,

    Hi Antoine Baril,

According to your description, your password is Complex enough. But if Office 365 thinks that there’s a high possibility that this password is used by other users, it will suggest you a more complicated password, no matter whether you used the password before.

Please try to reset your password again.

If the error still exists, please provide us with the following info:

    1. Does the issue occur to other users?
    2. If the admin change password for you in Admin Center, can you login in with the new password?
    3. If your admin creates a new user, does the issue occur to the new user?

    Regards,

    Rosen

I even tried to recover my account, and it does the same thing. I have the feeling that the whole validation thing is not stuck on refusing, at least for my account :

And it gives this result :
