    If the files you're linking TO are in the same directory as the file you're linking FROM, then you should be able to go back to the linking dialog box and remove the entire path, leaving just the file name, next to Address:

    they are in the same directory still have  the full original computer address.

    what is baffling is why sometimes the address starts with ".." which works and how to get to this address that starts with ".."

    Your best bet would be to put the files you want to link to in the same directory as the main file and only then create the links.

    The link will then point to just the file name, not the entire directory name, so as long as you keep all of the files together in one directory, the links will work.

    the issue is; i have a directory with sub-directories that contains many PowerPoints files, there are hyperlinks between the PowerPoints files.

    when copying the whole directory to another computer or movable hard disk some hyperlinks works and some do not, as the full path is copied through from the original computer to the another computer or movable hard disk.

    for example if the original computer path for a hyperlink is:

    C:\Users\Solly\Documents\Church\Liturgy\Fraction\Epiphany Feast- as you have bestowed عيد الغطاس-إذ اعطيتنا.pptx#1. Slide 1

    this is copied as it is to the other computer or hard disk and the link will not work.

    other times the hyperlink is;

    ..\Fraction\0%20Fractions%20List.pptx

    i.e. starts with ".." and this will work in the other computer or hard drive

    how to have all hyperlinks work if moving or copying from one computer to another if moving the whole directory.
