A family of Microsoft spreadsheet software with tools for analyzing, charting, and communicating data.
Hi Haggis72W,
Some add-ins are built in to Excel, such as Solver and the Analysis ToolPak. Typically, you only need to activate these add-ins to use them. After you install and activate the Solver add-ins, the Solver commands is available in the Data tab on the ribbon.
To activate Solver add-in:
- On the Tools menu, select Excel Add-Ins.
- In the Add-Ins available box, select the Solver Add-In check box, and then click
OK.
- If Solver Add-in is not listed in the Add-Ins available box, click Browse to locate the add-in.
- If you get a prompt that the Solver add-in is not currently installed on your computer, click Yes in the dialog box to install it.
After you load the Solver add-in, the Solver button is available on the Data tab.
If you still can’t see Solver add-in under Data tab, we would like to confirm the following information:
- In Excel, go to the Excel menu and choose About Excel, confirm the version and build.
- When you say, “*solver add in is missing but the option for the add in is still there”,*could you please confirm where exactly add-in is available? Please provide related screenshot to understand better.
Thanks,
Neha
