Word 2016 Split screen scrolling

When I split the screen in Word and add or delete text to the top of the screen, the bottom of the screen moves and I end up loosing my place. Is there anyway to get the 2 views to behave separately, so typing in one part of the split screen doesn't effect the other screen? Thanks

Please accept my apologies, I completely misunderstood your question.

Disabling Hardware Graphics Acceleration did not work.

I know of no way. You can certainly add bookmarks.

I tend to use heading styles and the Navigation Pane to get around in documents.
