Excel 2016 VBA Help File

I have Office 2016 installed on my computer. When I'm in the Excel vba editor and press the F1 key I am directed to an online site that I find is not as helpful as the old Excel self contained vba help file. Is this my only option?

I tried to reinstall the Office suite hoping I could do a custom installation, but that option is not available with this set up. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

    Mark,

    re: office improvements

The improvements benefit MS, if anyone hasn't figured that out.

The unpaid yokels (yours truly) are expected to fill in the gaps.

Actually, XL97 had the best Excel help file.

In each new Excel release, help was "improved" until now there is nothing left.

I believe XL2010 is a better choice than XL2016 - more reliable and it has a help file.

Some forums that also provide Excel help are...

      http://www.eileenslounge.com/index.php?style=12

      https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/home?forum=excel

      https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/home?forum=exceldev

      https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=isvvba

And, wait for it, drum roll please...  Office 2019 due in 2nd half of 2018 will only work on Windows 10.

    (i am not going there)

[EDIT]... I omitted the obvious solution which is "buy a book".  I like the way John Walkenbach handles things (author of 50 or so Excel books).  VBA programming is pretty much the same, no matter the Excel version, and used books can be purchased for shipping costs.

Sadly that feature disappeared with Excel 2013, and as you have found the online version is a poor shadow of what was available previously.

There is a download link for 2013 VBA documentation at this link. I haven't tried it but I think it is just an offline version of what you are seeing now.
