Release a Domain

Upgrading my email account with Go-Daddy and I need to release an web address from Microsoft,

Somewhere in the past the domain adeptspace.com appears to be partially logged with Microsoft. It may be with Business or Home as I don't have any details, but I believe it might have something to do with Office 365

I have spent all day Friday on the phone and chat lines to Microsoft (At least 12 plus different teams, globally) but no luck.

Can anyone advise me how/who to get in touch Microsoft to release the domain

I'm based I the UK

Hi Cabriel62,

Thanks for sharing with us the information in private message.

Given the situation, you may sign up PowerBI services and added that domain to an Office 365 for Business tenant. You get the account ga********@adeptspace.com but it doesn't get Global admin role. To release the domain, you should firstly take owner of that tenant. Please check if the steps in the article below work for you.

How to perform an IT Admin Takeover with O365

If yes, you may continue to remove the domain from that tenant referring tothis article.

If not, feel free to let us know. We can look into the issue further.

Regards,

Tim

When I go in to my office 365 account I get:

You can't revoke permission because this has been assigned to you as part of a subscription or an admin role.

So I went to https://portal.office.com/adminportal/home. to have a look I get:

You don’t have permission to access this page or perform this action.

UnAuthorized
    Close
Support Information![](https://prod.msocdn.com/16.00.1850.008/en-GB/Images/transparent.gif)![](https://prod.msocdn.com/16.00.1850.008/en-GB/Images/transparent.gif)

Correlation ID:

weu#513e6e53-f319-4081-8a3b-4e5ccfa36f8a
--- ---
Session ID:
Error code:

0

    Any ideas

    Hi Cabriel62,

Given your description, you have added the custom domain adeptspace.com to Office 365 tenant (Office 365 for Business). So, you are able to access Office portal (https://portal.office.com) with the account like ******@adeptspace.com. Now you want to remove this domain from that tenant.

If my assumption is correct, we may need to collect more information for investigation. To protect your privacy, I have sent you a private message to collect the information. You may find the message via the URL https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/privatemessages/list.

    Best regards,

    Tim
