Word for Mac - problems with Caption function

Dear all,

We've been having 2 problems with Caption function for some time know (more than 12 months to be exact.).

We have Office for Mac (latest version), Word 15.41 (171205), on macOS High Sierra 10.13.2 (with all patches) installed on 5 Macbook Airs. We always used the latest patched versions of Office and macOS.

1st PROBLEM:

When we add a new label (Insert new caption - Label - new label), and then use it across the document, after several successful inserts, all of a sudden, that newly created Label is no longer present as an option to select (it disappears). If we try to create again this label, the caption numbering starts form 1 and we have to recreate/reinsert ALL labels previously created by that label.

2nd PROBLEM:

For newly created label, during the document label inserts, it happens that all of a sudden the numbering is not correct (for instance, after inserting caption number 13 with the newly created label, the next insert happens to be number 15 for no apparent reason. There is no way to recreate the correct numbering (13, 14, 15, ...), so we are forced to recreate the ENTIRE caption list.

These 2 problems are causing huge problems since we work with large word documents with large Caption lists.

Microsoft or someone, please help!

Thanks,

Saša
