Hybrid Configuration Error - Object reference not set to an instance of an object

Hi,

We have Exchange 2016 CU7 and trying to setup exchange hybrid and we keep getting this error when confirming the TXT domain proof record :

*ERROR* 10224 [Client=UX, Page=DomainProof, Thread=16] Microsoft.Online.CSE.Hybrid.PowerShell.PowerShellInvokeException: PowerShell failed to invoke 'Set-FederatedOrganizationIdentifier': Object reference not set to an instance of an object. An unexpected error has occurred and a Watson dump is being generated: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

TO be noted that the latest version of HCW sees the On Prem exchange as CU6 instead of CU7

    Hi HeidiElmer,

Have you checked the below thread that are talking about the issue?

I was able to work around this issue by manually adding the primary domain in the EAC under Organization/Sharing in the federation trust section.  I selected Modify under the existing in-process trust and added the single domain.

Once I added that domain, the HCW was able to run through the additional domains I had.

However, this did not fix the issue for a colleage of mine.

Alan, do you realize that the links you sent don't even have the same error as what was asked by the original post?

I have this issue, as well as another colleague and there seems to be no practical answers or support being offered by MS on this.

    Heidi
