Kindly help me to recover the excel file at the earliest.

Excel cannot open the file 'salary statement.xlsx' because the file format or file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file. in windows 10

    This message appears, while you exported some data in Excel Spreadsheet format, but actually it exported as a type of "File" (without any extension ) due to background coding of that software.

    And then if you edit the File Type as "salary statement.xlsx" then this document not supported by the exported data. Due to while exporting, The original software exports the "salary statement" file as "Office 97-2003 workbook" format which is not supports .xlsx format. The message is:

    To solve this problem, you need to edit the file type as .xls format (Office 97-2003 workbook). And then open the file. Then It will display a message like below:

    Click on Yes. Then it will open.
