Word 2016. I set tracking to show only change bars on the left, no insertions or deletions. If I try to print, or export to PDF, it shows all the markup not just the change bars.

You will have to change the display options for tracked changes. In Word 2016, use the Advanced Track Changes Options dialog box, which you can open by clicking the dialog launcher button in the Tracking group on the Review tab and then clicking the Advanced Options button.
