I have an excel file present in my downloads folder and its size is around 50 Mb. When I double click on it, it starts loading but stops at 93% (please see attached screenshot). I have Office 2016 installed and use Windows 7. Please assist. Thanks

    Hi Sharjeel,

One of the possible reasons why your Excel file is not completing its download is due to software conflicts. May we know if there were any changes made prior to the issue?

As an initial troubleshooting step, click this link to open Excel 2016 in safe mode and follow the steps provided, then, open the file. How did it go?

We'll keep an eye out for your response.

Thanks for replying. There were no changes made.

I did try to open in safe mode but the file will stop at around 90%. Please see screenshot attached.

I do not get any error messages. Also, this problem is persisting with the particular excel file,

I followed all the steps but in vain. Thanks.

90% or more means that the file is actually loaded in Excel in memory and that Excel is having really a hard time reconstructing the internal structures.

It may take a very long time indeed, there is known issues with tables for instance. You can verify if Excel does anything after a minute or two with the Windows task manager : CPU and memory (working set) columns.

If you can create a dumb file and Excel has no trouble opening it, this is probably a problem related to your file alone, not the "environment" installed around Excel (addins, ...)

If you can share this file for further inspection, do not hesitate.
