Microsoft Planner slow performance

Split from this thread.

I have the same problem in ALL plans.  Creating, editing, updating tasks especially slow.  We switched from another program to Planner and it worked well for us for several months.  Now the new update has made it extremely slow.  I also have no issues with other websites being slow.  Just Planner since the update a week or so ago.

    Hello,

we switched to Microsoft Planner a couple of weeks ago. At first everything worked as expected, but as projects and tasks are growing it seems to get slower and slower - especially the "my tasks" screen lags big time.

I tried clearing the browser cache and also different browsers, but the performance issues still remain.

If there won't be a sagnific change, we will sadly have to switch back to another PM tool as its hardly usable in the current state.

Is there any solution out there?

I have the same feeling, we are using some plans and in the biggest one now we have around 250 active cards and other 150 "completed", we would like to use planner as a tool (we have been using it for 3 weeks ans this perfomance is not what we expected (we made several plans but with fewer cards). plase can MS tell me if there is someway to solve this matter? as if everything is all right our planner should usually have 500 active cards...also the filter is very very slow. thank you

    Hi Darlene,

May I confirm the following information?

    1. Does this issue occur to different web browsers?
    2. By "Now the new update has made it extremely slow.", which update do you mean? Can you share more details?
    3. Have you tried clearing the browser cache? (In IE, press Ctrl + Shift + Delete, Make sure to uncheck "Preserve Favorites website data" and check both "Temporary Internet Files" and "Cookies" then click "Delete". You will get a confirmation at the bottom of the window once it has successfully cleared your cache and cookies.)

    Thanks,

    James
