Drop down "sendto Excel" error - The code execution cannon proceed because MSVCR90.dll was not found.

I have added the excel 2010 program to the "sendto" drop down for my desktop icons.

The Sent to is found here. C:\Users\name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo

The excel program is found here.  C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\Excel

When you right click the desktop icon you get the drop down send to and select excel.  When I had 2007 it worked great.  It would open the workbook in excel.  I just recently updated to office 2010 standard.  Now I get an error message.

Excel.EXE - System Error

The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCR90.dll was not found.  Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

We have uninstalled, ran repair and looked all over the forums for answers.  Can you help?

I actually found a solution... I make a shortcut copy of the excel application and put it on my desktop.  I then put that shortcut in the sendto and it works now.

    Hi Cameron,

The error message that you’ve encountered can be caused by a corrupted application or an issue occurred when executing the dynamic link library (MSVCR90.dll) that was mentioned in the message. Since you’ve already performed some steps and still issue persists, we recommend that you run the Office Configuration Analyzer Tool. This will help us isolate your concern and will provide a report if there’s a known issue found when OffCAT scans your computer. Please click here to download the tool.

Let us know the result after running the OffCAT tool.
