A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
Hi Alexander,
From the screenshot you provided, I assume you are trying to sync a SharePoint library with next generation sync client but it still pops up with the old OneDrive for Business sync client (Groove.exe). If there is any misunderstood, please correct me.
If so, please perform the steps below for troubleshooting:
- Go to SharePoint admin center > Settings, in the Sync Client for SharePointsection, make sure the Stare the new client is checked as below:
- Set the registry key TeamSiteSyncPreview to enable SharePoint file sync with new OneDrive sync client. You can follow the steps in this article:
Enable users to sync SharePoint files with the new OneDrive sync client
After adding the registry key, please open Registry Editor, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\OneDrive, check whether the DWORD value “TeamSiteSyncPreview” has been added and is set to 1 as the following shows:
- Run the following command in CMD to transition SharePoint site libraries from Groove.exe to the new OneDrive sync:
- Exit the running new OneDrive sync client. Press Ctrl + R, and input CMD.
- Run the %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\OneDrive.exe /takeover command.
For more information, please refer to Transition from the previous OneDrive for Business sync client.
- Use Internet Explorer to sync SharePoint library and see if the issue can be fixed.
If the issue persists, please provide the following information:
- The version of your sync client. To check it, right click the OneDrive icon > Settings > About. The version should be like 17.3.xxxx.xxxx
- The version of your installed Office applications. To check it, open Word, click File > Account, and provide a screenshot as the following shows:
