Office 2010 Install error

Question

Hi,

  I had Office 2010 32 bit installed on my 64 bit Windows 10. I uninstalled the 32 bit version as the 64 bit version won't install if it finds a 32 bit version.

When I attempt to install the 64 bit Office 2010, it gets to the end of the install and gives up with an error "has encountered an error". I do not get to the point of entering my Product key. I've searched the web and found nothing that helps.

I have run the Microsoft Office Uninstall tool. It cleaned the entire system of 32 bit Office left over from the Uninstall exe on the Office 2003 disk. I get an error before the install completes stating it has encountered an error (As posted before). I do not get to the point of entering the Product key.

I would uninstall any/all versions of Office using the MS Office uninstall utility, then run the system file checker.

Office 64bit is not required unless you are using +2gb excel workbooks

You cannot install 64bit if any office 32bit component is installed
