Hi,

I have enabled MFA.

When I log into Office 365 through IE, it only asks for the code once. In Chrome, it asks every time when I log in. In both case, I use the same device.

Any idea why in Chrome it is asking for the code anytime?

Thank you?

    Hi Bogdan,

We'd like to inform you that if you have logged out the account before you close the browser, it is an expected behavior that you need to sign in again.

Meanwhile, please confirm that you have reset IE by following the steps above and check the result.

Furthermore, you can try on another computer to check whether the symptom are the same, and please confirm whether there are other users have the same problem.

    Regards,

    Tisky

    Hi Bogdan,

Thanks for the information in private message.

Basically, if you sign out your account before you close the browser, you need to resign in and insert the code again.

According to the reply, only in IE you don't need to resign in with the code. So we suggest you follow the steps below to reset IE:

    1. Close all Internet Explorer windows. Select the Tools button, and then select Internet options.

    2. Select the Advanced tab, and then select Reset.

    3. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, select Reset.

    4. When Internet Explorer finishes applying default settings, select Close, and then select OK. Restart your PC to apply changes.

Meanwhile, please double check whether you have signed out your account before you close the browser and please share the IE version with us.

Furthermore, if it is convenient for you, you can try testing on another computer to check whether in IE you don't need to resign in with the code.

    Regards,

    Tisky

    Hi Bogdan,

Based on your description, when you use MFA to log in Office 365 portal in Chrome, it will ask for the code every time.

Based on our test, we suggest you try the following steps to check whether there is any help.

    1. Clear all the browsing data in Chrome, both Basic and Advanced.
    2. Go to portal.office.com, log in with the account, after enter the code, click Yes in Stay signed in prompt.

    Regards,

    Tisky
