Would like some help with graph tick marks in Word/Excel

I am currently doing a scatter plot graph in a negative axis. I require a format where the major tick marks to be above the numbers on the X axis.

However, I'm unable to move the tick marks to that area since the values are negative and the tick marks is displayed on the top of the chart instead. Is it possible to move the tick marks below as shown like the graph that I've created from Matlab?

As I said, to set the position at which the Horizontal Axis crosses the Vertical Axis, you need to access the options for the Vertical Axis and vice-versa.

In Excel 2016 with chart selected, access the Chart Area dropdown in the Current Selection section of the Chart Tools>Format tab of the ribbon.

From that dropdown, select Vertical (Value) Axis

The Vertical Axis will then be selected and then by clicking on the Format Selection item in the Current Selection section of the ribbon

you will see the task pane for formatting of the Vertical Axis, in which you can set the position at which the Horizontal Axis crosses the Vertical Axis

Do you not mean that you want the labels (-14,  -13, -12, -11, -10, -9) on the X axis to be above that axis?

If you send me a copy of the document\workbook, referencing this thread in the covering email message, I will investigate the issue.

Hi, I'm sorry to say that I am still having issues.

The screenshot that you've send me was an older version of Office which I am currently using Office 2016 where the layout panel isn't there.

From what I've understand, I'm pretty sure I know about the options on the horizontal/vertical axis which I believe it to be here for Office 2016?

I have tried all the options in this area with no luck. The only thing that can change the tick marks are only the "Tick Marks" section. Though it only changes the tick mark shapes and not the positions.  The Labels position is actually something I want but the problem is that the tick marks does not change the positions along with the Labels.

Just to make sure, I've uploaded the screenshot on what I actually want for a graph.
