Custom theme or CSS in SharePoint Online

Hi,

I want to do some custom theming in sharepoint online. I want that the color is exact the same as the color of our company. I found a tool for sharepoint2013 (https://en.share-gate.com/blog/create-sharepoint2013-theme-using-color-palette-tool) to make my custom theme. But I don't know how to upload this file to my Sharepoint Online site. Or is this not possible? Or is there any other way, maybe I can use CSS?

Like you see in the picture, it is possible to change the theme and some extra style but I need a specific color (just like one the top bar).

    Hi Axel,

I apologize, I didn't completely finish the test mentioned in my last reply. It appears in this newly designed site collection, even the global admin has the full control permission, he still has the Deny permission level:

(Deny - Add and Customize Pages

Add, change, or delete HTML pages or Web Part Pages, and edit the Web site using a Microsoft SharePoint Foundation-compatible editor.)

Thus the customization for the site will be disabled, enabling the custom script won't help either.

Given this situation, you can either customize other site templates, like a team site or community site, or submit this feedback by clicking the button in the bottom right corner of your Communication site home page. We'd appreciate your understanding.

    Thanks,

    Jim

    Hi Axxeption,

I notice you've post the same question here

How to do custom theme/css in Sharepoint Online

To create a new theme in "Change the Look", here is another articlefor your reference. This applies to SharePoint Online.

The example upload URL you can use is like : https://cotoso.sharepoint.com/_catalogs/theme/15/modifiedfile.spcolor

Fill it in the "Theme URL" field at: Site settings > Composed Looks.

Please check if the method above works.

    Hello!

Indeed, I posted on stackoverflow, but without luck.

I understand your solution, but in the SharePoint ONLINE I am not able to go to "composed looks", as you see in my screenshot. I think that is a feature in sharepoint 2013?

So I can not access all the .spcolor files? Hopefully you can do the trick for me?

    Kind regards

    Hi Axel,

No, I refer to SharePoint Online and you can find these files.

You can enable custom script and wait for some time (up to 24h, normally in few minutes/hours) to let the changes take efforts. Then you should be able to find more options under Web Designer Galleries, like Composed Looks.

For your reference: Allow or prevent custom script

    Thanks,

    Jim
