using tab control and subform with a single table

Hello, and thanks to everyone who has helped me in the past.

I guess the 1st question is, is it possible to make a single form with tabs and continuous subforms from a single table?

I have a data input continuous form with input text boxes in the header and data display text boxes on the detail section, now linked to a single table.

I want to add some more text boxes on it. This makes the form look very crowded so I though I could make a single form, add tab controls, add continuous subforms to the tabs, and put my current primary continuous form detail section text boxes on the tab1 subform and the rest on the tab 2 subform. So far that much works but nothing is connected like on my original input form.

If I don't put anything in the link master field  and link child field in the subform detail section the detail section of the subform looks like a continuous form. If I link a field the form only shows table row 1 and a new row, either way the detail and header sections are not connected like the original input form. Is there anyway to make the form and subform form work like the original form?

thanks for any help you can give

If you move to a different record in the lower/continuous part of the form, does the top part update with the values from the selected record?

Thanks for the reply. This is not a typical DB and I don't know much about access but it may be so far outside the box it can't even see the box. There are no any products, prices, addresses, customers or anything like that. I trade currency and I designed this to track my trades. Currency pairs, order in, order out, time in, time out, price, direction of market, etc. It's all on 1 table. I have over 50 query's based on this table that break down the data by time, date, direction, price etc.

I have inserted a screen shot of what I have. and I just want to put the detail section in a tab frame and divide some of the text boxes between them. I tried to add a 2nd screen shot of what I am trying for but it won't allow 2 images. Don't know what else to tell you, it's a simple concept just difficult execution.

thanks for any help. Oh and don't worry all the data on this form I made up several years ago for testing purposes.

You could try to explain first. That's typically how this works. Someone might be willing download your file to look at but you would still need to provide a detailed information.

that's what I found watching youtube videos and reading different articles on google.

I could put the DBG in dropbox and let you see what I'm doing.

Can you provide more information about your tables and fields? I can't imagine a single table requiring a form with continuous subforms. Typically a subform shows related records from a child table.
