I have an Excel worksheet that includes multiple sheets, lookups, tables, calculations etc. that we use as a template for estimating customer jobs for a construction company. Each time I open the template, I do a "Save As" and re-name the template file for the specific customer, enter the information and then save. Sometimes, when we are doing multiple estimates for the same customer, I do another "Save As" and rename the customer file to a new name for the same customer. I jump in and out of all of these files multiple times a day as I get the information to enter.
On the open of either the template file or a customer file, I keep randomly getting this error: Run-time error '-2147417848 (80010108)': Method 'Select' of object'_Worksheet' failed. When I get this error, I have to force a close of Excel through Task Manager and when I re-open Excel, the file that I tried to open shows up on the left as a "Document Recovery" but it is completely corrupt and can not be opened again - even using the "Open and Repair" function.
This seems to be random - I can't find a specific pattern to the error appearing. The big problem is that I keep loosing files and have to keep rebuilding them...
