OneNote - HELP!!!!

Hi, I have OneNote installed on three Windows 10 laptops and one Windows 10 Desktop and one android 7.0 Phone and one Android 6.0 Tablet.

All was working nicely and syncing perfectly between devices until yesterday.

Although I noticed that some of my OneNote appearance is different  - no three dots in upper right corner, No Menu bar, no notebook tabs - and I cannot figure out what version is this one. But it was working

I received a notification yesterday on my Android phone OneNote that I can no longer sync due to low memory on the OneDrive- I had 5GB and was 95% full. I tried (foolishly) to reduce the file size by moving them to my hard drive and apparently damaged something in the process.

After repeated failed attempts, I broke down and purchased extra space up to 50GB- BUT all my local OneNote installation lost sync and do not have connection to the OneDrive.

My Android phone OneNote still shows insufficient memory warning and does not sync. All my other OneNote Installations work as local copies but not connected to OneDrive and not syncing with OneDrive or with each other.

I can open OneDrive and can save and open files on it but do not know how to reconnect the system back the way it was.

I do have all local OneNote files on my laptops and Desktop and my Android phone and tablet - BUT I do not know how to restore them to the OneDrive and make it work again...

HELP!!!!!

Thank you for getting back to us. Let us perform some other steps to identify the issue. Check if it helps:

Step 1: Repair Office application to refresh OneNote.

             a. Right-click the Start button (lower-left corner), and select Programs and Features on the pop-up menu.

             b. Right-click the Microsoft Office product you want to repair, and select Change.

             c. From the How would you like to repair your Office Programs screen, select Online Repair to make sure everything gets fixed, and then select Repair. The Quick Repair option is also available, which runs faster but only detects and then replaces corrupted files.

d**.** Follow the instructions on the screen to complete.

Step 2: Perform a clean boot. It will start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and start up programs. It will also eliminate software conflicts that could occur when you install a program, or an update, or when you run a program in Windows.

For your Android phone version, please sign out from your account then restart your device. Once done, sign back in and check if you are able to sync your files.

Let us know the outcome of the suggested steps.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

For us to fully identify what is causing the issue, we just need to gather more information. Please answer the following:

    • What was your last activity when this issue happened?
    • Any changes that took place in your computer before this issue occurred?

Meanwhile, we suggest that you install the latest update for OneNote. We're continuously releasing product updates that resolve issues and improve your syncing experience in OneNote. Please check this link on how to install Office updates.

Once done, there are troubleshooting steps that we need to perform to isolate the issue. Detailed steps are provided on the links below:

Fix issues when you can't sync OneNote.

    OneNote syncing best practices.

If a particular section in a shared notebook fails to synchronize properly, OneNote will display an error message in the Shared Notebook Synchronization dialog box.

    1. On the Navigation bar, right-click the icon of the shared notebook you want to check and then click Notebook Sync Status.
    2. In the Shared Notebook Synchronization dialog box that appears, click the Errors tab.

After this, we can then try to sync your OneNote to OneDrive.

Your feedback regarding this case is highly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Anna, To answer your questions:

    1. Last activity – I moved files from OneDrive to my Hard drive using Explorer (mistake- I should have used OneDrive instead), after that ALL six 96) of my OneNote computers stopped syncing.
    2. No changes in my computer before the issue. As I described - received a notification that I cannot sync due to low memory on OneDrive. I then moved files from Drive to Hard Drive to free space. After that all computers stopped the sync. I do not know where to find my OneNote local files on my computer.
    3. I do update Office regularly, but I have different versions of OneNote and cannot figure out which one is which. On th eversion I have there is no three dots on the right upper corner and there is no “File” menu button or “Help” menu button. I hope I can attach screen shot here…As you can see I have very limited menu ribbon and the tabs look different. There is no place to find the version. If you can suggest how I could upgrade this version but maintain the Notebook – it may help solve the problem.
    4. One of the WEB suggestion (Best Practices) I found is to share the Notebook by going “File>Share “ in Notebook and specify location on OneDrive and select Move – BUT I cannot find “File’ Menu item to do it.

Please let me know how I can upgrade OneNote and re-establish sync.

Also, how can I do this in my Android phone version – I cannot find any help for this version, but this is where I continuously update my Notebook
