Word 2016 - duplicate text bug

In one of my files, I am getting a paragraph involuntarily duplicated. I see this pattern occurs when I create a column break, and then on the first line of the new column is an equation. Then, whatever text is on the second line is duplicated. Attempts to highlight it result in one of the two appearances getting selected, but if I try to delete it, both are deleted.

This duplication appears when printing the document, but not when viewing it in Web Layout.

    I'd suggest trying to first repair the document, using these instructions:

    If that doesn't work, I'd then suggest trying to repair the installation.
