Excel Add-In Issues

In Excel 2010, I have previously had Excel Add-In for Hyperion and also Excel Add-In for Cognos Finance work together. However, since I loaded Excel 2013, I am unable to load the Excel-Add In for Cognos Finance. Is there an issue now having 2 excel-add ins for the applications. The Hyperion add in remains but I cannot have a Cognos Finance version

Thank you for the information you've provided. There might be a compatibility issue between Cognos Finance add-in and Excel 2013. For verification and possible troubleshooting steps, we recommend contacting the developer of the add-in.

Let us know if you have any other concerns.

    Hi Darren,

Multiple add-ins can be installed in Excel. For us to check if this issue is about compatibility, we suggest removing Cognos Finance add-in and then install it again in Excel 2013. To do that, you may refer to the article below:

    Add or remove add-ins

If the same issue will persist, it's best that you contact the developer of the add-in to verify its compatibility and for possible troubleshooting steps.

Keep us updated if you need further assistance.

Thanks for the update. I removed the add-in and reloaded this morning. At the final installation section , excel message appeared as follows: "Excel is running into problems with 'cfxl.com' add-in. If this keeps happening, disable this add-in and check for available updates. Do you want to disable it now?"

If I do not disable, then excel opens but stops working and then reopens but asks to disable again. If I disable , I can get into excel but the add-in is disabled. If I try to manage the COM Add-In I can get it to active but it never appears on the Add-Ins menu.

This has been the process behind the issue since I originally tried to load it
