Old computer with Windows ME

Running Ultimate Family Tree (family tree software no longer supported)

Sending report from UFT to Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word opens just fine, then gets interrupted.  Instead of the report appearing, a message pops up with the header of:

     Microsoft Visual Basic

The body of the message is:  Ambiguous name detected:  TmpDDE

Options are 'OK' and 'Help'

Help returns with:  Microsoft Word header; followed by:  This feature is not current installed.  Would you like to install it now?  Yes/No

Yes results in:  Installing:  Microsoft Word feature

Next message:  Microsoft Office XP Standard header, then:

The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available.  Insert the 'Microsoft Office XP Standard' disk and click OK.

When I select browse, it says it is looking for a file named 'STDRET.MSI

Where can I find this file??

I believe Microsoft was preinstalled when I purchased the HP Pavillion 7940.

What are my choices now?

The message suggests that a macro is malfunctioning for some reason. Exit Word and rename the Normal.dot template. You may also want to move any add-ins (*.dot) files out of Word's Startup folder.
