Project Essentials user can't edit tasks?

I have a tenancy where we have a few Project Online Premium subscribers, that all works fine with the online project (pwa) schedule. We also have some support staff that need to update tasks and that's about it so don't need the full functionality and features of the premium or professional subscription. From what I am reading, the Essentials subscription should be enough to give them web access to update tasks/milestones in the schedule.

I've got the project showing for the essentials user but the tasks are all in read-only mode. Where do I go to set the permissions to get them to be able to edit the tasks within a project?

No.  The only date the team member can enter on the Tasks page is task progress, such as Actual Start, % Work Complete, Actual Finish, and other such fields.  Sorry.  Hope this helps.

Yes that's what I was hoping to be able to do. Well that sucks a little.

Is there a way to sync the tasks to the tasks page?

The Essentials subscriptions allows users such as project team members to provide task updates on either the Timesheet page or the Tasks page in PWA.  It does not allow them to edit projects, which I believe is what you are describing.  Sorry, but if they need to edit projects, you need to buy the more expensive license for them.  Hope this helps.
