Sync Errors (Last Sync 11/17/2017)

[Notebook's name]

We can't access this section file or the attached file because the file was moved, the file name is invalid, or the file permissions have been changed.

After editing a page in OneNote, I found out that there is an error indicator at the top edge of the app's window and a (-couldn't sync) next to the notebook name. This error happens with all notebooks in the app related to the two E-mails I use. I never changed any settings within the app and probably outside the app (adding or removing Microsoft accounts from Windows).

I'm not even on a metered connection.

How do I check if the file was moved, the name is invalid, or the file permissions have been changed?

Since I have no Idea how this Sync works and not sure whether I've removed or moved a file from OneDrive or something.

Please help me to fix the problem.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ahmed,

The sync issue that you received might be an issue with the location, file or the OneNote application itself. To properly isolate the issue, let us perform some troubleshooting steps. Please follow the steps below:

    1. Close and reopen your notes. Here's how:

              a. File > Settings > Close (or right-click on the notebook in the drop-down list and choose, "Close this Notebook").

              b. File > Open > choose location > double-click on the notebook you just closed.

    1. Repair your Office application. Please access this link for detailed steps.

Once done, please check if you are able to access your notes.

Let us know the result of the suggested steps.

    Thank you.
